We have a new arrival...

Over the past few days I have noticed a couple of young calves putting in an appearance with the herd but obviously being a few day old before I spotted them.

This morning I saw this new mum standing alone near a small clump of trees and a small black form in the grass nearby as I walked past the cow gently nudged the form and it lifted its head enough to see it was a calf.

I slipped Jinxy on his lead, as he takes a great interest with the remains of the birth, and its wise to give the mother some space at these times. You can see it better in "Large"
