Sydenham then and now

Went into a suburb called Sydenham today for a photo up-date that I do. I do this to keep track of the progress in this area. You'll see a pic of one old block of shops taken about 3 weeks after the 7.1 earthquake Ch-Ch N.Z. experienced. these were very badly damaged and consquently demolished. there was a fruit shop there, very patronised at the time. After the quake, the owner didn't muck around and had a container on the site asap with his usual sign; Bananas .99c kg.... hence all his customers supported him from then until now, and that's the attitude most of the other owners have. there are new buildings going up in the next block and over the road.. great for the area. however the other pic is the one I took today of the same block( sorry about the car got the timing wrong ).
