Custers Last Stand.

Today we went to what used to be called Custers Battlefield but is now called Little Bighorn Battlefield. We sat though a talk of how and why Custer and his army were slaughtered. It was fascinating. Then we went out to see where Custer and his men died. There were little tombstone markers to mark where they fell. Some had names but some soldiers couldn't be recognised so the marker just said ...US soldier 7th cavalry fell here. There white tombstones for the soldiers and red for the very few Indians. Custers as you can see in the blip was black and white. We had a walk down a path and you could see dotted round lots of white tombstones. It was quite amazing. There was also a visitors centre which had artefacts from the battle which was so interesting.

I then got to drive...eek. Having never driven on the opposite side of the road before I finally got my chance. One of the parents of a team member took us as he wanted to go as well and asked if I'd like to dive back. It was a huge truck. I loved it. I was as happy as Larry driving his car....not sure he felt the same! We drove through The Crow Indian reservation. It was mainly one very long road. Apparently you often see bears but we didn't. We did see a horse walking in the middle of the road though and a prairie dog.

We stopped at a place called Edgar which is a one road town. We went into the one and only bar/diner. Order of the day was Mountain Oysters..which are bulls testicles. We had them deep fried with ranch sauce. I'm always up for giving anything a go. They were ok. Luckily they were sliced already and didn't come whole.

Then I drove the rest of the way home. It was another scorcher so off to the pool we went.

This evening we took our new friends out for dinner to a very nice fine dining restaurant to thank them for everything they have done for us. They have now lent us a car so we don't have to hire one. These people are so unbelievably kind...I hope they come to the UK so we can repay them.
