Lunch amongst the vines
There is a restaurant at the vineyard in Hambledon about which I had heard good things but never visited. So I arranged to meet a local actor friend there for lunch. It was a bit more ‘fine dining’ that we anticipated but the food was good, the chat was good and the views down the valley through the vines were extraordinary. It’s a major investment so I hope it does well. It seemed reasonably busy for a Friday lunch.
After R left I went down to see Mum and have a cup of tea. Chris turned up to do a job there and Jono was passing by with Plum so it was all very jolly.
On leaving I realised the restaurant had massively undercharged us so I went back and paid up. They were all astonished that I did so and I pointed out that I probably wouldn’t have done it if it were MacDonalds but for a local business that I wished well it felt essential. I hope I get some Karma.
