Whitby

We got up and ready fairly promptly this morning and headed off to Whitby. We spent a couple of hours at the car boot sale, mainly buying fruit. Lots of fruit. Katie ate lots of fruit. We then headed in to Whitby, where we enjoyed a picnic lunch by the bowling green. As we were finishing up, some rather tame seagulls came to investigate - Katie enjoyed watching grandad throw bread to the impressively well-practiced biggest one who was catching bread mid-flight.
We then walked through the town centre, heading towards a vintage fair. We had a nice potter round the stalls, found Katie really beautiful vintage Laura Ashley floral coat. She adores it and it is sooo pretty on her. She also was pleased to find some old fashioned traffic lollies. We walked towards the front, stopping in a couple of shops and to buy ice cream.
The beach was where Katie was exceptionally keen to head to. As soon as we got there she ran very quickly, slinging her shoes off as she went. We spent quite a long time building the mermaid that she requested. She has a funny little habit of wanting to break things she builds before we leave, saying that she doesnt want someone else to be able to do it. So the mermaid was smashed up before we departed. We had a lovely snuggle in our double rainbow wrap as we went up the hill. She slept almost immediately we set off, thanks to us figuring out how to put my iPhone's music through the car stereo.
We went briefly back to grandads to all get changed and sorted before we headed out for a really beautiful meal with Uncle Simon, Alicia, and my aunt & uncle (belated birthday celebration for Granny). She was such a good girl for the whole meal, drawing beautifully and reading stories between courses. She wasnt impressed by their tuttifruitti ice cream however! She was shattered when we left and crashed almost as soon as she went to bed
