Did you know that sheep can fly?!
This morning I tackled the issue of finding the dead mouse in my dining room. It has taken me most of the week to decide which room the mouse was rotting in. Those of you who have cats probably don't need any more information at this point.
I gradually moved my wool stash out of the room. No mouse smell amongst any of the bags or boxes of wool
Then I took all the books off the smallest bookcase. It was still a heavy job for me. No mouse behind there. A vacuum and duster won't go amiss of course.
I deduced that the mouse was behind the largest and heaviest bookcase in the room, packed with books in double rows. Gulp. I did some lateral thinking and poked a garden cane near the floor behind the case. At the third attempt a rotting corpse was pushed out. Phew!
Annette arrived to say she was full of cold so we agreed she should go home. Daisy brought us a small bird at this point, but it was dead, so no rescue required.
Annette told me that today was the biggest lamb sale of the year so I headed to the Mart for 2pm. The room around the ring was jam packed with local farmers and some from further afield. It was very hard to find a position for me and my camera and very hot. I had a bit of fun and lasted an hour.
My extra shows just how young shepherds start these days. She had a tiny go at holding the crook while the lambs careered around the ring. Every farmer comes into the ring with their stock.
Two charity lambs, who have won at several shows locally, were auctioned and went for a very large sum. It goes to the local Hospice at Home.
Tonight I'm going to see Inter Alia at the cinema.
