Faro Ferry Face
Walked along the beach to the ferry for Faro town (we are on Faro beach, one of the many sand bars in the Ria here) - €4 return for a decent boat ride. Wandered around, bought, wrote and posted a postcard to HarlingDarling, which I hope gets there (the first one, from Italy, never has).
This is arriving at the jetty; in the foreground is the railway track that I really want to go on some day, all along the Algarve, from Lagos in the west to Sto António on the border with Spain. Notice the seahorses on the mural, a real conservation effort ongoing to save them from extinction - in 2000, the Ria had the largest population of seahorses in the world; not many years later, 90% of them had disappeared.
Gratefuls:
- the annual photo of our two oldest grandkids going back to school; Zion starting at secondary, yikes! and all the other back to school photos on Blip
- going for a quick swim
- the gorgeous sunset I'm seeing out of our balcony
Went down to dinner and saw on the telly about the awful accident with the Glória funicular, so sad.
