Just One Week To Go

I'm getting excited now.

A diary shot today - the Gigaclear men have been to do the pre-installation check and work for our full fibre internet. It was much more straightforward than I had imagined, no disruption to the drive or garden required. It's good being a pessimist at times. I should have done this a couple of years ago but there were a lot of horror stories about difficult installations doing the rounds.

I thought the yellow cable was the actual signal carrier but no, that was just to send down the ducting to clear a route. We now have a coil of black fibre cable ready for the full installation next week.

Mrsfb was a bit annoyed she didn't know they were coming, otherwise she would have tidied up the porch.

I also sorted out a new LPG contract today. Still with Flogas but through LPGSave and cheaper than dealing direct with Flogas. Crazy. Also fixed for two years which Flogas weren't keen on doing.  I could have saved more by switching to Calor, but they said they might not accept us as the tank is now 28 years old.

Historical Society starts up again tonight after the summer break - Tolkien in the Cotswolds. There will be a bar.
