Wirral's Water
The weather forecast for today was wet in the west and centre of Eryri, but only a small shower around lunchtime in the east, so I headed off to Llyn Brenig and Llyn Alwen in the East.
The day almost got off to a great start, while driving along a single track road I passed a red kite perched on a fence post at the side of the road, but being a single track road there was nowhere to stop, and even if I had been able to stop by the time I had stopped and got out of the car I would have frightened off the kite. So that was the one that got away!
The Osprey at Llyn Brenig were on the point of migrating south again. There were still 4 around but they were expected to depart imminently. I did see them across the lake on the telescopes and web cams, but my humble 600mm lens was nowhere near enough to be able to see them.
I finished at Llyn Alwen Reservoir, built by the Corporation of Birkenhead to supply water to the Wirral and parts of Liverpool early in the 20th Century, so it's alittle over 100 years old.
