Hydrangeas
Headed to bed early last night as I felt tired and floppy with cold. Was looking forward to a hot shower and curling up in bed.
There was no hot water coming out of the shower. I put the hot water on for an extra hour to no avail. The shower is unlike any I've encountered. All there is in the shower cubicle is a metal box fixed to the wall with a button to turn on the water flow and a dial to regulate temperature. warm water - nada. Splashed cold water on me but as I was already shivery did not extend that experience. Tried to shower in the morning but it was stone cold - still
I took the hound for a walk. It felt cooler though I I couldn't tell if I was more sensitive to cold or the temperature was responsible.
Bumper into Pam and Penny who were both wearing gloves. My hands weren't cold.
Had repetitive dreams implying a temperature but I only felt cold.
Kept the hot water on before calling the plumber. Didn't want to find I'd missed something simple. This system is different from what we had in Cambridge.
I left a voicemail message for the plumber shortly after 9. He texted back they would arrive in a couple of hours which they did.
He explained the problem. The pressure had dropped and no water would be heated until that was sorted. He showed me a hole in the back of a kitchen cabinet below the boiler which had a lever to raise the water pressure. The boiler in the cabinet above has a has an gauge indicating comfortable water pressure. Our previous Megaflow system had a similar dial and needed to keep the gauge in the optimum position.
I also learned where the immersion switches and water tanks are. This system is not as advanced as our hot water system in Cambridge but if I'm vigilant it should be fine. Looking forward to a hot shower tonight.
Stayed in reading and resting today. Cannot have a more congenial place to read, relax and rest,
We have two hydrangea bushes in the garden. I've never had hydrangeas in the garden before. They are delightful. The RHS website advises not to cut the dead blooms until early spring as they protect the new young shoots.
Hot shower awaits!
Pleasant evening everyone.
