Fields of stripes
Up very early this morning and on the road before sunrise, for our long journey back to England. Gavin drove the whole way! He says I drive too slowly...I did not mind, I don't really like driving on long journeys and so I read a book, which I started this morning and finished just before we got home.
This is the view from one of the petrol stops in France - it was not very pretty there but I liked the striped patterns of yellow and green. We arrived at the Eurotunnel crossing at Calais earlier than expected (9 hours from Switzerland), and after checking Murdoch in at the pet clearance centre we managed to get a crossing earlier than we had booked.
Now we are home, I have unpacked, Adam made supper and Murdoch is very depressed and miserable. He is the one going to miss the holiday most of all I think, as he loved all the many walks he had in the mountains.
Tomorrow is Adam's 16th birthday, so off to wrap his presents and then off to sleep....zzzzz
