Adult Education

Adult education classes still roll on. Women come in large numbers to participate when they can. As you can see from the pic. they always have one or two babies on tow. They cope and manage and get on with things.
They are part of a pilot project on we have introduced where we do short terms of spoken and written English mainly, and a bit of practical Mathematics for the little businesses they do.
Every little bit of education they get improves their lives and the lives of their children.
Today Harisen and the education people had a visit from the Special Advisor to the Minister for Health, indicating areas and community groups seeking Preschools. We are delighted and we will help with training of local women to be carers and when they build a structure we will help with the metal sheets and a few bags of cement for the floor.
All of these schools are locally led and managed and the main beneficiaries are women and girls. We are calling our next year: THE YEAR OF THE GIRL.
