Marjorie's ramblings

From California

These three walkers are walking Hadrian’s Wall Trail from East toe West. There first stretch was from Wallsend to Heddon and their second, today, was from Heddon to Humshaugh. They are covering about 15 miles most days.

They met while doing the Camino two years ago and made friends.

As you can see, Frosty’s fish and chip van was I. The village tonight. I treated myself. The fish and chips are very, very good.

There was quite a queue so we stood together and chatted while the cooking proceeded. People arriving after 6.10 were turned away because there was not time to cook for them and because the van was running out of food. Pity the people of Barrasford who were next on the list.

My day started with me going over and over the problem with Aggie and trying to decide on my next move. I then saw my very lovely psychiatrist who wanted to check if my sleep has improved.

Just before I left home, my mobile slipped behind the hall radiator. It is in a firm case and it would not budge. I had to leave it. Not ideal when I have to phone a number to gain access to the outpatient department. Thankfully Pamela, one of the secretaries saw me.

This afternoon I met my new next door neighbour, Gillian and her friend Paul. They were discussing fitted bookcases with a joiner. We had a good chat and got on very well. I rescued a butterfly and volunteered to go if there are large spiders. (They scare Gillian.)

I drove to Hexham with a car full of stuff for the charity shop, but they were closed. I went on, as planned, to see Maureen.

Her brilliant mobile phone failed last week. She has a new one, but it is more complicated than the old. The worst thing is that it was not possible to access the contacts list from the old phone for the new one. Hmm.

Then I unpacked a new keyboard. It has very large keys and should be great. I installed it. I’m hoping that Maureen will manage it, because it kept producing repeated letters if her finger was on a keypad too long. I tried changing the settings, but then it would not type at all. I may have to have another go.

I went to have a cuppa and chat with Liz before she and Nick leave us for another 5 weeks in Scandinavia. Good to catch up.
