Grass growing

Oh, dear, it's more than two thirds of the way through the year. Time seems to slip away ever faster. And what have we achieved?

Well, of course, we've achieved new gates, and I bring you, courtesy of the extras, a picture of our gate in Tain hanging open when it should be closed. This came from a close neighbour, who was worried about whether it should be open or closed, and bolted or not. Actually, I think she just wanted an excuse to photograph our lovely new gate.

The blip is the grass growing in Old College. It's not that I stand there long enough to watch it grow, but - as ever - the grass in the quad has taken a hammering this summer from a combination of fringe activities and the excessively dry summer. It's currently cordoned off, and with the increase in the amount of water coming out of the sky (just a bit....not too much) and quite a bit of sun and warmth, the lawn is starting to look at lot better, at least in some places. And especially if you adopt a low angle.

Anyway, it was a Monday and it's well known that these are simply for surviving. And that's what I did.
