The bracken is turning...
Today is the first day of meteorological autumn. It is still warm and has been sunny all day, except for some occasional sudden showers. I used to love autumn and winter, winter used to be fun as it was often frosty or snowy and it meant rugby season for the boys which I used to enjoy watching. These days our winters are so mild and boring, they are just wet and muddy and to be endured until spring arrives. I feel very sad that the summer is on the way out and we are heading for winter. I also felt confident that Gavin and I would have a good summer, now I wonder what lies ahead with his health.
Gavin went to work today - yes he is meant to be retired but has things to finish off. Adam and Anna went to London today as Anna had planned some birthday treats for Adam.
I had a long walk with Xena, which was followed by grocery shopping. I then spent the afternoon looking at images to select for camera club competitions for the coming year.
Tonight is our first camera club meeting of the new season. I don't feel like going but I need to attend as it is when the committee introduce themselves to the new members, and I also need to take in some prints required for external competitions.
