A ferry good day
Fortunately the wind had died down by this morning though it was still rather showery. The ferries were back on and MrsM was catching the 11am ferry from Mull, due into Oban about 11.50. I spent a couple of hours titling photographs and the rain had more or less stopped as I set off for the pier.
Both the 'Isle of Mull' and the 'Isle of Lewis' were sailing in past Kerrera as I got out of the car and I was able to get pictures of them both. MrsM was on the 'Isle of Mull' and a couple of dozen waterproofed cyclists were waiting to board the 'Isle of Lewis' where they would be setting off for the Isle of Barra. They were planning to cycle the 184 mile Hebridean Way, which begins on the island of Vatersay, and visits the islands of Barra, Eriskay, South Uist, Benbecula, Grimsay, North Uist, Berneray and Harris and Lewis, finishing in the capital, Stornoway.
The ‘Isle of Mull’’ was first into the pier and is today’s Blip. Minutes later her sister ship pulled in behind her and is my extra today. A bit of shopping then back home. I was hoping to sit outside, but the moments of sunshine were too short, so it was back to indoor work. Tomorrow the local u3a is holding their AGM, preceded by an opportunity to meet new members and point them in the direction of the members manning the various groups tables. With a bit of luck we’ll get some new members for our revamped Creative Writing group. In the afternoon is the first Poetry Reading Group meeting of the new season so I printed out my offerings.
