There's smoke to colour
my world this morning and make
me cough and sneeze, too!

My best-laid plans were foiled this morning as I drove up to the university parking lot to discover it was locked. I have always been able to access it, even in the early hours of the morning, but not today! I was hoping for some lovely sunrise-over-the -city photos, but it was all for nought. 

I drove around the round about to catch the wolf pack metal sculptures near the entrance. The howling wolf appealed to me. I looked over to my mountains to get the view across the Sahali neighbourhood. A direct look into the sun revealed how much forest fire smoke has coloured the sky. It does make for some interesting photos. 

As I drove back down the hill to cross the bridge for home, I began to cough and sneeze. This is the first day this year that I have felt the effects of forest fire smoke in our valleys. Thankfully, no fires rage in close proximity, but the smoke drifts and settles at will. 

I will be enjoying coffee with a friend this morning and then it's feet up for the day.
