Sunshine

This morning I started varnishing the new treads for the attic stairs! I got the first coat on, and then left for Edinburgh. Fuelled by an excellent Cornish pasty, I walked over Calton Hill towards Easter Road, calling in on daughter K for a quick chat. From there it's a short walk to the ground, and after buying a replacement scarf from the club shop, I just got to my seat in time to be part of the standing ovation that greeted the team, after their heroic European qualification failure during the week.

Both Hibs and St Mirren played open, attacking football, and it was amazing that it was still scoreless at half time. The second half wasn't so good, and St Mirren took the lead. It didn't last long and, towards the end, Hibs might have snatched a win.

Afterwards, it was again beautifully sunny, and I couldn't resist the call of Holyrood Park (see extra), so I cut across it to get a bus from Newington.
