Another sign of Autumn

This is the second garden spider I have found in the cloakroom sink in a couple of days. There again, it might be the same one making a second attempt. Both were rehomed, unharmed, to a remote part of the garden, so it would mean a fair walk to the outside drain. I wonder if there is a queue of them waiting to gain access? 
After some torrential showers this morning a sunny afternoon followed with brisk winds  from which the  garden is sheltered. A good opportunity to clear the sweet peas which are finished, before the garden bin collection on Wednesday.
I spoke too soon as the rain is now hammering down; standing outside would be like being under a waterfall.
