An unexpected lunch party!

Our friends Peter and Patricia decided to call in on us in the course of their travels from the home counties to Staffordshire.

The result was a ver pleasant impromptu picnic-style lunch, and lots of interesting conversation.

Both husband and wife are scientists (physical chemists) in fields ver closely related to my own, and during the course of my career I have twice worked on topics visited previously by Peter.

The couple now act as consultants, and for several years they were closely involved in the EU EUROTRAC project, in which I also partcipated. Peter and Pat based themselves in Garmisch-Partenkirchen for the coordination of the work, and over the years we had some very fine conferences in Garmisch, drank good German Beer and made visits to the summit of the Zugspitze (2962 m ASL).

I just had a look at their website, and note with interest (and some astonishment) that the lunch reported here is also noted on their page!
