End of the Summer?

.....or the beginning of autumn?

I'd expect this kind of scene to be more typical of October or November, but this was just after sunrise today.

There has been plenty of evidence of the impact of what meteorologists are predicting will be the hottest summer in the UK on record. Having been doing my 'O' levels in 1976, which is oft regarded as the warmest and sunniest summer in living memory, this year doesn't quite strike me as being as sunny. My memory of those weeks from May until the end of August, was that we had wall to wall sunshine without a break where I was living at the time. this summer we did get some short breaks from the hot weather and I know for many further north they have had frequent episodes of rain.

Still, these colours are very autumnal in feel.

In the evening we went to see a tribute rock band. Tickets were £2 each, the drinks were extremely good value and the band itself played many popular classic songs, very well indeed.
