Harvest
I think I mentioned earlier this year that we’d seen the best blossom on our fruit tress ever, probably down to the dry, warm spring. Well it has turned in to the best crop of apples ever. We have been picking fruit for the last month, ending up with lots of boxes, which we have shared with friends and taken up to the stables for the horses. Plenty have also fallen on the ground.
These are from the cooker apple tree,
I gave both lawns a good scarifying in the hope of seeing some recovery. Reading, one website suggested that they may require digging up and returning, because of the age and condition of the lawns. Certainly the front
lawn is very bare and to add to the complications the roots from the tree are coming up to the surface in various places.
