An approaching storm

Thank you for all the kind comments and hearts on yesterday's sunrise image, it's much appreciated. The sunrises in the Greek islands are lovely, nothing better than a sunrise, water and boats!

This morning for the first time we woke up to clouds. Ioannis had told us that a big storm was forecast for today, and he was due to go off with new clients today, but they may have to stay in the marina because of the storm and only sail the following day. There was still colour in the sky as the sun was rising so I quickly got dressed and walked around the marina to get a better view of the sunrise with the heavy clouds.

We packed up and had to be off the boat by 9am. The cleaning team were already waiting to come on to clean the boat before the new set of clients came on board later this afternoon. Saturday is changeover day and the marina was a buzz of activity with people and their suitcases coming and going.

We had breakfast at the marina cafe, then got a taxi to the airport. The airport was rather chaotic with long queues for security and passport control but we got through them fairly quickly. It was an easy flight home and we landed mid afternoon. Tommy flew back to Munich and his flight was 2 hours later than our flight to London.

When we got home Xena went crazy, she was so excited to see us. Fiona had left the house spick and span and even washed the bedding on her bed. As soon as I unpacked and sorted all the dirty washing into the right piles and put some laundry on, I went off to the supermarket to get food. When I came out out it was raining! What a difference from a grey and raining Surrey to the blue skies and blue seas of the Greek islands!

We all loved the holiday. The boys said it was especially nostalgic for them as it reminded them of all the sailing holidays we had when they were young boys, and they had forgotten what fun these kind of holidays are. I loved us all being together, it was a very special family time. We still have Adam and Anna with us for a few days before they fly back to San Diego on Wednesday.

And now it is back to reality....for a while.
