So Relieved …

… to see sunshine and the big Alpine peaks, appearing out of the clouds as we approached the Col de Montets and there was good light at the little lake there. Introducing the family (extra) to these magnificent mountains was such a pleasure. The Aiguilles in extras too with atmospheric clouds. By the time we had returned to the car and they had set off down to Chamonix to see the start of the UTMB (Ultra trail of Mont Blanc 174km with 9,900m of elevation gain) race, the clouds were thickening fast. They will be back home late tonight while the race continues throughout the night in probable very wet weather!
