Marjorie's ramblings

Cristo Harijan

Look out for Cristo’s name on concert listings. He is 24 years old and making his career as a concert pianist.

I first heard him about 3 years ago when he performed with Khrystyna Mykhailichenko in a four hands, two pianos concert in St Andrew’s Church in Corbridge. Khrystyna and her family came to Corbridge as exiles from the Ukrainian war.

In my opinion he has developed his talent well, although the piano rather let him down today. It is hard for pianists who have to cope with using different instruments wherever they go!

I took Margret. We had a bit is a challenge with her electric wheelchair which would not go up a very slight curb. There was a lot of traffic around so it was a challenging situation. Passersby came to help.

(Aggie does not like having to move any significant weight at the moment.)

We both saw a few friends.

We went to Il Piccolo for lunch. I am going to start a logbook of restaurants with good disabled toilets. This one was perfect.

The food was delicious. I had lemon sole cooked in lemon butter. Margret had sea bream but wanted only one fillet on her plate. In the event she could have eaten two! There were new potatoes and red cabbage.

We will go there again.

I’m back home and thinking of trying to sort out Photoshop again!! Henry is my backup on this.

PS I did photograph Cristo at the piano, but I liked this portrait too much not to use it!
