Speeder

For the last few months, there has been a white SUV speeding past our house most mornings at at least 80 mph. The guy drives so fast I can’t make out what kind of car he is driving (I have seen it is a male driver). After months of this, I called the Polk County Sheriff’s Department to register a complaint. This morning, a very nice young officer showed up to watch our road. Unfortunately, the guy sped past a half hour earlier, but we were very thankful and grateful that the officer showed up so quickly. Ours is a narrow gravel road, with farm equipment, hay trucks, other vehicular traffic, and cyclists at times. He is traveling east in the morning, so the sun is squarely in his eyes, and I know from experience how blinding it is. We want him stopped before he kills himself, others, or both. It is such a dangerous situation. The officer was a super nice guy, young, probably around 25, and he talked to me for maybe 20 minutes. He said they would be vigilant, and we are grateful for that.

Who drives that speed on a gravel road in a car you care about? I don’t get it.
