Swimming with the Dolphins
We swam with a pod of dolphins this morning. Well let me say, we were in the shallows , the dolphins were slightly further out doing their dolphin thing. It does help to be taller with good eyesight to notice all the fins popping up above the waves, but there seemed to be several in the pod. They were obviously enjoying the calm sea as much as we were.
Excitement over, it was home in a carefully orchestrated bus manoeuvre that allowed me access en route to a # 45 bus almost to the door and compensated for the initial 11 minute wait for a bus at the Porty end.
This afternoon I paid a visit to Christine Muir, whose Book “Orkney Days” has just been published, having discovered she had relocated from North Ronaldsay to a flat just 10 minutes away from me. It was a jolly afternoon with lots of hilarious tales from her 60years on that windswept island and much reminiscing of our shared time at school. It was wonderful to see her looking so well after a dodgy 3 years.
Now I’m waiting to collect a “ Good to Go” goody bag from the Canopy restaurant at the EIF. I hope it contains enough for my supper.
