Botanic Gardens

Back blip

We both did some admin work in the morning and then went to the Jardim Botanico/botanic gardens. Very pleasant temperatures to walk around in, although it was a bit cloudy. They have an amazing orchid house! A very pleasant couple of hours. Our last visit was in 2018 and we were seeking the shade everywhere: https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2395258828598805423

Then had a wander in the Jardim Botanico area and found a new-for-us part in Rua Pacheco Leão. Lovely little tree-lined streets with terraced houses and a few cafe bars and restaurants. We stopped at Eleninha for a drink, but it had mixed reviews on food and service, so didn’t want to risk eating there (not to mention the incredibly steep and narrow rickety stairs to get to the toilets!). Another place, Patio Horta, just along the road from it was smart and designer-ish and wouldn’t have been out of place in São Paulo. Creatures of habit, we took a taxi to Bar Lagoa for our late lunch/early dinner, which we know and love.
