Life in Sunny Dubai

Last Sunday

(27/8/25)

I was up early to get some chores out of the way. The new week is going to be super busy, so I have to stay on top of things. :))

We got to what will be our last service at the Wonersh URC Church, which we have come to call home when we are at the Lodge. We were joined by David and Eileen, who travelled from Bromley. It was great to be there on a beautiful Sunday morning, and I was glad that I took a proper camera to capture a few shots of the inside on a bright, sunny day.

We came back to the Lodge to offload a bag of shopping that Eileen carried out for me, and then headed to Gomshall Mill, another gastropub that is close to us. We were joined there by "the gang", as Eileen calls them (Derek & Verna and Bob & Celia), with Rodney and Annette coming as well. Service was slow, but the meal was delicious. Sadly, we missed their live musician in the garden.

Back at the ranch, we managed to get ten people on the deck, joined later by three of our neighbours! It was a lovely, relaxed time. G then put out the spread of food we got yesterday. We were all full after our Sunday roasts, but found room for a light snack (my extra) before we had to say goodbye to all our friends until who-knows-when. ;(

Another amazing day, and we were finally able to offer our neighbours hospitality. They came back after they had their meals, so we sat on the deck chatting until late, whilst I lined up the next song to play courtesy of Spotify Premium.
