Flowering Porty

From the 30th August till 14th September, thirty five gardens in Portobello and Joppa are taking part in Flowering Porty, the first ever front gardens festival as part of Art Walk Porty, celebrating wildlife, colour and all things seaside retro.

People are being encouraged to view and vote for their favourite gardens.

Anyway, it looks like a lot of fun and as with so many initiatives in Portobello, stresses the importance of community.

As you can see, there are a gardens champing at the bit and are ready before the starting gun has been fired. 

We blipped this entrant on Joppa Road on our early morning walk along the promenade, and will certainly be back to view all the gardens once it officially starts.
