Latest prayer shawl
Sunday
We were warmly welcomed back at church after our four week absence. It was wonderful to welcome Nicolette back as a guest singer. She sang with the choir for a couple of years as a choral scholar a few years back, and has a wonderful soprano voice. Our assistant pastor Brian announced before she sang that she is pregnant - when we spoke with her afterwards, she told us she is due in 5 weeks. You would think that would affect her singing in the way of breathing, but she sounded as amazing as ever. The two pieces she sang, I suspect chosen by Tom, our pianist/organist, also showcased his skills with a great piano accompaniment. Afterwards, we stayed for Bible study. It was a beautiful afternoon, which we spent at the outdoor pool - this coming weekend, being Labor Day weekend, will be the last weekend it is open.
Unfortunately, we were sitting a bit far back to get a picture of Nicolette singing, so for my blip, I resorted to a picture of my latest prayer shawl.- it seems a bit strange knitting with thicker yarn on bigger needles, and a simple pattern, after the more complicated baby blanket I was working on earlier in the summer!
