LOCOMOTION
#2 daughter and I had a really enjoyable time at the nearby Locomotion railway museum today, a fascinating place especially as she has a strong interest in the history of trade and transport, working as she does in freight handling and shipping. The main blip is the 200-year old Locomotion No 1, dwarfed by the neighbouring Intercity 125 engine. Extras are the iconic Stephenson's Rocket, the equally iconic Flying Scotsman which, after a century-long record-breaking career all over the world was doing a stint taking passengers up and down a very short stretch of the historic track at the museum, and a notice that caught my eye and made me smile.
