YORKSHIRE GRAPES

We had a really lovely time visiting Mount Grace Priory this afternoon. It's a favourite of mine and #2 daughter loves it too. There's plenty of space so it didn't feel crowded at all and of course the weather was just perfect. There wasn't even much of a queue at the café. I've never visited at exactly this time of year and it was so interesting to see what was going on in the garden of the reconstructed monk's cell. There was a wonderful harvest of grapes growing over the roof of the covered walkway between the cell and the private latrine (with running water). Extras are a lovely bit of wall on the way in and an emerald damselfly in one of the ponds.

We drove a very wiggly way home across the moors which were beautifully purple with the heather.
