Down To The Metal
One of the joys of visiting coastal areas is coming across abandoned boats, which have been left to decompose from the effects of weather and sea. I love seeing the layers of paint, representing episodes in the life of the boat, perhaps corresponding with different owners, or the purposes to which the vessel was put.
And now, without, for the most part, its protective coating, textures in the weathered timbers are revealed and one wonders how long before the structure collapses and is swept away.
