Beating A Retreat
A long period of sunny warm days finally draws to an end with the threat of rain. The wind picked up and seas became choppy. I came to the beach, armed with a wide angle lens, ND filter and tripod, and the intent of photographing moody long exposures.
Unfortunately, I mistook the large area of wet sand as an indication the tide was on the way out. In fact, the opposite was true and I increasingly had to beat a rapid retreat in the face of incoming waves.
The process was harder than I expected and many images I thought had worked in camera, did not turn out. Even in this, ok shot, I was not careful about the rock on the skyline and could have usefully moved left to get the foreground rock more central.
