Borken
Steinbock_Travels Day 64
After a great night‘s sleep at the Barfuss Park carpark, I had a wonder around, and amazingly, a little white van appeared with bread, croissants and Brötchen for sale. We had an excellent breakfast with fried eggs, then packed up, went to empty grey water, fill up with clean water, and clean the urine tank. All these little jobs that need doing on the road. Then we drove for a couple of hours, it was already lunchtime. On a Monday almost every restaurant is closed, but I found a German restaurant at an Autohof, so Mr S could have. Schnitzel. It was tasty but he was unable to eat the DE size huge portion. We drove for another 2 hours, then parked up at a little swimming lake. We got the bikes out, and did a tour around Norkensee, and the town of Borken, including a stop for Eiscoffee in the town. Instead of going for a swim, we packed the bikes away again and got back on the motorway at 7pm, then drove a further 170 km. Getting past Frankfurt was the goal, it was still light and really the most beautiful evening, traffic moving well. We went to the same parking place at Gernsheim that we went to on the way north on 21st June. It was a quiet night, we just had a small dinner of fruit and carrots, following the huge lunch
