Praying For Time

In the first half of this afternoon’s home game against Gateshead, Yeovil played better than they have all year, probably better than all last season. Quick, creative and ruthless in front of goal, we were 3 0 up by half time and the fans were in seventh heaven.

The photo shows Junior Morias giving thanks after scoring Yeovil’s second goal, his first for the club.

In the second half, we were as awful as we had been good in the first, conceding a goal within two minutes of the restart and two more as the half wore on.

As the game entered added time, we were hanging on desperately and the fans were praying for full time. Inevitably, Gateshead scored a winner with the last kick of the game in the 98th minute.

It can be purgatory being a Yeovil fan. If Chris Kamara had been reporting from the ground he’d have had just one word for it:

Unbelievable!

Earlier we'd given up on any hopes of a swim this morning when we saw the crowds pouring into the pool and opted for a walk instead.
