On This Day

The river level is really low. Even at high tide there's far less water than usual and at low tide it looks as if you could walk across. The ducks were perching on stones which are normally submerged. There is rain in the forecast though which we really do need.

A quiet day for me after the busy weekend. I don't even have yoga tonight because the teacher is on holiday. I'm going to miss a few classes over the next wee while.

The garden looks simultaneously overgrown and completely finished. The heat, wind and lack of rain have all played a part. I've dismantled the  tomato plants which were looking awful. The green tomatoes are ripening on a saucer. There aren't many now. Same with the peppers. I think the runner beans will be next to go.

Archie, our doggy weekend lodger,  has gone home. It worked out well to have him to stay. He's a good dog but Flora is happy to be No1 pet again.

Had a lovely time yesterday. The weather was kind and we were able to sit in the garden all afternoon.
