Evening island

Moving day! We packed the van with our belongings and the tent, still part-assembled, and drove from the campsite in Saltash to the new site at Bigbury on Sea. As we passed through Plymouth we called into the big Go Outdoors shop for a couple of camping items that we'd forgotten to bring, and then stopped in Modbury for a while for a light lunch and to buy provisions for the next few days.

Didn't take long to pitch the tent. The site overlooks the bay and Burgh Island, which was indeed a proper island this evening at high tide. The big white building is the hotel, which has connections with Agatha Christie. The campsite itself is lovely, quite apart from the views, and there's a 'Beach Barista' by the gate selling fresh croissants as well as good coffee. (Intentions to eat healthily may be shelved this week!)

A drive back to Plymouth this evening. We went to the Dolphin pub, where MrM played at the music session, and Angus joined us for a short while. It was a good mixed session - not all Irish music - and a good evening.
