Did the usual Saturday chores when I got up and then made a coffee and walnut loaf ready for Bridge. This time it cooked properly but wasn't sweet enough and the icing didn’t really work. It was a Mary Berry recipe but when I checked the quantities afterwards I realised it had been reproduced on someone else’s blog so maybe it hadn’t been correctly copied. Had a nice afternoon playing Bridge and then cut the grass and pottered in the garden for a while. Was pleased to see that the very overgrown shrub ( think it’s called Chinese honeysuckle) that I cut back really hard a few weeks ago has some new growth. Amazing, especially considering how little rain we have had and lots of other plants are struggling
