A cheery wave!

I had to go round to Rachel’s to water the plants and found a man up a ladder painting her house.   Very useful to get his name and number as he might be able to paint ours next year.

Lot of watering here too, the ground is bone dry, leaves are falling, desiccated from lack of water rather than the natural Autumn drop.  The huge weeping willow once again is looking a bit fragile. Only the dahlias power on, making it clear if they need watering but pumping out flowers galore.

Vikram’s friend Quinn came down for the day, over from LA to sort out her student sons she stayed for dinner of salmon salad and hot new potatoes before driving back to her parents’ house in Buckinghamshire.

So a day of reconnection all round.
