Mount Bures Church
Well it was up a hill, but by no stretch of the imagination was it a mountain!
Rode some more of the Essex/Suffolk border country today. Fondly known as Constable Country and an acknowledged area of outstanding natural beauty.
Of course we saw lots of signs calling for the new power cables serving the North Sea wind farms to be put underground.....evidently we are due to get 180km of 200ft high pylons in a double line right through the middle of this area.
We used National Cycle Routes and some traffic free routes of old railways.
Stopped for lunch at a pub we've promised ourselves we would visit but the lunch was disappointing and expensive.
Back on the train to Sudbury. An absolute bargain. Shame they configured the train the wrong way round! The cycle space carriage was at the back and so you couldn't put a bike on or take it off at the destination stop because the platform is too short. If the train had been the other way round then the bike carriage would be accessible from either end. We pointed this out to the guard and driver who both said "It's OK just use the middle doors and the disabled space" (see extra).Which is fine until a wheelchair user shows up, and of course this is just what happened.
Anyway another 20 plus miles and a good day. Last minute change of plans when we opened our emails when we got home so events for tomorrow and Monday are subject to review......
