St Beatus Caves

A relaxed start to the day since we’d no schedule to keep to! Late breakfast before we headed to catch the bus to the caves…made better by discovering we could travel free! Helen and Clare arrived for the same bus so we enjoyed a pleasant journey although they didn’t actually go up to the caves. It was a rather steep incline to the entrance of them but very picturesque (see first extra) and once inside it was mostly uphill…it nearly killed me but I made it to the end!

We enjoyed a very pleasant late lunch with a view and a lizard (see second extra) at the restaurant on site, not cheap but lovely freshly cooked food…I had a risotto, L had fish n chips and we shared a dessert. Third extra and two of the first extra are taken in the caves…a few of my favourites of the many I took.
