It's one of those days
when it's great to be alive.
I will drink it in.

I was out the door before 6 in hopes I could be in McArthur Island Park to catch the sunrise. I drove in by the north entrance watching for deer. I found them between the slough and the baseball field where I usually park. There were two bucks and a doe enjoying the grass. They paid me no attention whatsoever.

I got a look into the west side of the slough from the footbridge, Shadows and reflections were highly contrasted.

I drove on to the west side to discover two marmots on the stairs of the former restaurant. One looked as though he was leaning on the bar waiting for a cold one.

I got a shot of my mountains behind the soccer fields and managed to catch the first bit of sun coming through the trees.

I zoomed in on the new house I'd blipped earlier this year. It is prominent beside the Rivers Trail.

My last shot was looking across the river to Rabbit Island and the south shore. The river continues to drop revealing more sand bars and shoreline.

I picked up some groceries and my breakfast before heading for home. I'm hoping for a quiet day with my feet up.
