The road home

I set off driving towards the central belt of Scotland today from my wee abode in Inversneckshire, normally a 3.5-4 hour journey. It took me a full hour to complete the first 27 miles through an empty landscape of hills, trees, the occassional cow and never ending roadworks. Even beyond the roadworks there was nose-to-tail Friday afternoon summer traffic including hapless caravans, all moving at an average of 45 mph. So I decided to turn back, although I assume most folk would have plodded on. But you know the phrase, "life is too short  for...."  Well, that's how I felt. It was100% a good decision. I plan to try again tomorrow, leaving here at 7am. (Having attached a jetpack to Yellow Dog' s rear end.)
