Stepping out

Balanced a tad precariously on the penultimate step of the stepladders leaning forward into the buddleia I managed to get a few shots of this peacock butterfly.

Having been planted quite a few years ago and even being pruned religiously every year this gorgeous buddleia has grown huge which poses a few problems for me in that the flowers are mostly very high up. The butterflies all summer have flitted way above my head making it impossible to get a decent shot. Desperate measures were called for today as we are stepping out for the evening to my brother’s and I needed a blip: out with the steps! Not the easiest way forward but the most practical and it worked!
