That Will Do!

Lovely day today, Miss Flum had the day off and suggested lunch at Smeaton's Nurseries and Tea Room, with visits to the Re-Use Hubs at Dunbar and North Berwick.

Well, it is her birthday, so off we went, but in reverse order. All these Hubs are different in size and stock; Dunbar is huge with electricals, furniture, masses of china/glass, North Berwick more unusual items (sadly, all the laboratory equipment has gone) but with a fair share of the usual stuff. I bought a set of four fruit knives (though they'd pass as scalpels if necessary).

From NB we had time to relax over lunch  of soup and scones so generous that we needed nothing more than the coffee, indeed, I have 3/4 of my cheese scone for supper. It was there I found my blip, the nurseries are known for attracting butterflies and we found three red admirals on a tray of different shades of buddleia. They were too busy feeding to oblige with showing their colours, although some of my photos they seem to be pulling funny faces but I can't spare any extras to show you.

It was time to head back to base to collect the Flumlet from school, after which Miss Flum walked home while we continued to the Young Flum residence, amusing ourselves until all adults (and Grand-dog) were present and correct. Leaving them we returned to Miss Flum's for a cuppa and a slice of deliciously chocolatey multi-layered cake that she had picked up at bargain price (which we were still too full of lunch to eat, so brought home).

It was getting dark by the time we rolled up home for a late, light tea, the cake and some unchallenging TV. I hope Miss Flum enjoyed her day as much as we did.
