Holiday laundry

Almost as soon as we hung a load of washing out in the breezy sunshine here in Wester Ross this morning, it was dry!

Our expeditions of the day were to the garden of Dundonell House (extra), which was open as part of Scotland's Garden Scheme, and to 'our' beach as captured in my blip.

I think that I may have visited Dundonell House in the 1970s when my parents knew one of the former owners, and my father fished for salmon on the river that runs alongside the house into Little Loch Broom. As children, my sisters and I thought it hilarious that this former owner was called Bunny. I learnt today that he was really called Neil, and one of three fabulous eccentric brothers. The house and garden are now the passion of Lady Jane Rice, with whom we shared a few words about Bunny this afternoon.

We didn't swim or paddle today. Instead we found a cosy spot in a sand dune on Gruinard Bay and read our books. We really must try harder tomorrow...

Exercise today: only a small amount of walking again (~8k steps).
