Vibes
I popped into Bradford on a couple of errands and came across this piece of street art by Blok. I’ve seen their work in Leeds, Huddersfield and Bradford, but don’t know if they have escaped the bounds of West Yorkshire.
While in town I had my first look round the new market building, which is a prestige new build on the site of the former M&S on Darley Street. It seemed well frequented and has most of what you’d expect from a city centre indoor market, apart from the decades of wear and tear. The upper floor is an eating out place, with several small ‘street food’ providers and certainly seems worth trying as a lunch spot.
I also revisited the Clare Hewitt exhibit at Impressions Gallery; the most inspiring photography show that I’ve seen in a long time, in terms of subject, creativity and ethical integrity of practice. It’s three month run finishes on Saturday.
Given I’m in Bradford just at weekends now, it was good to get a sense of the mid-week vibes.
