Visit to Lux Perennials Nursery
My last day of teaching plants for the term....next week is the very last class, and a day of testing. Today we went to one of my favorite nurseries:
Lux Perennials Nursery. It's only about 15 minutes from the campus, and I've been taking my class there for four years now. The owner, Lisa, is so generous with her time and the students really responded to her. Since they've learned so many of the plants at this point in time, they were really able to engage with her. Cool stuff.
She and her husband have built a magnificent house from which you can see Mt. St. Helens (the volcano that erupted in 1980) and a gorgeous view. The gardens surround the nursery, in front of the house, and extend down the back of the house ending in a lily pond and gazebo. A water feature trickles down the entire length of the back garden.
See a detail of the front garden in the extra.
Gorgeous day today, but sadly the weather will be heating up AGAIN. Sigh. 100F on Friday, 101F on Saturday, and so on. I'm kinda done with this heat.
